Grealish's Disciplinary Slip: Everton's Star Winger Left Out of Cup Clash
29 October 2026
Jack Grealish has been a noticeable presence at Everton this season, but he's hit a snag.
The England winger was omitted from the squad for Everton's Carabao Cup match against Newcastle United, reportedly due to a breach of club discipline. While the club has kept the specifics under wraps, sources suggest the issue arose from Grealish missing a training session.
At 31 years old, Grealish is currently on loan from Premier League giants Manchester City, a move that has seen him don the Toffees' colors once again. Last season, he spent a significant amount of time with Everton under a similar arrangement, notching up two goals and six assists over 20 appearances before a foot injury cut his campaign short in January.
In August, he made a cameo appearance in City's 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield. The former Aston Villa star, who made headlines with his £100m transfer to City in 2021, also played a part in City's opening Premier League victory against Bournemouth, coming off the bench.
Since returning to Everton before the transfer window shut, Grealish has featured five times in the league and was part of the squad that triumphed over Wolves in the Carabao Cup's third round.
