Harry Kane Extends Bayern Munich Stay Until 2029 After Stellar Season
5 November 2026
Harry Kane has officially penned a new deal with Bayern Munich, ensuring his presence at the club until the summer of 2029.
Reports from Germany indicate that the England captain's new contract will earn him over £20.9 million (€25 million) annually.
"I feel right at home at FC Bayern," Kane stated on the club's website. "I love the club, the fans, and the city of Munich. With a fantastic team and an exceptional coach like Vincent Kompany, I’m proud to be part of this club."
Kane's family is also enjoying their time in Munich, which played a significant role in his decision to stay. "I'm eager for the future and to win many more titles here," he added.
Since joining Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has been nothing short of sensational, netting 156 goals in just 161 appearances.
Last season alone, he scored an impressive 73 goals for both club and country, including six during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This stellar performance earned him the men's Ballon d'Or, making him the first English player to win the prestigious award in 25 years.
In his time at Bayern, Kane has clinched two Bundesliga titles, with the first in 2025 marking his first major trophy. He also lifted the German Cup and the German Super Cup in the past two years.
Kane has shone brightly in individual accolades as well, winning the European Golden Shoe twice and the Bundesliga Golden Boot for each of his three seasons at the club.
Under his leadership, England reached the Euro 2024 final and achieved their best World Cup finish since 1966 earlier this summer. Last month, he matched Peter Shilton's record for England caps, reaching his 125th appearance, and is set to break it in the upcoming Nations League matches.
Analyzing Kane's situation, Sky Sports News' Michael Bridge remarked, "Harry Kane has consistently shown how content he is at Bayern Munich. He values privacy and has thrived in his new environment."
Bridge noted that discussions with Kompany after the last season revealed they felt they could have challenged for the Champions League title if not for PSG. "Kane's relationship with his teammates and coach is strong, and he continues to set records. Despite being 33, there's no doubt he still has plenty to give."
