Teen Arrested After Disturbing Bradley Lowery Taunt

3 November 2026

A 14-year-old boy has found himself in hot water after reportedly taunting Sunderland fans by displaying a photo of the late Bradley Lowery during a recent match. Following the incident, which was captured in a video circulating on social media, the teenager turned himself in to West Midlands Police and has since been released on bail. Bradley Lowery, a young Sunderland supporter, tragically passed away at just six years old in 2017 after a brave fight against a rare childhood cancer. His story touched the hearts of many in the football community and beyond. The Coventry City fan’s actions did not go unnoticed. Both police and Coventry City FC are looking into the event that unfolded during Saturday's Premier League clash. In a heartfelt response, Bradley's mother, Gemma, expressed her pain over the misuse of her son's memory. "So much of Bradley's short life was spent battling cancer and enduring treatments no child should ever face," she wrote on Instagram. "To see such a beautiful memory used in such a cruel way really does make my heart hurt." Gemma emphasized that her son deserves to be remembered with love rather than hate, urging for understanding rather than anger directed at the young boy involved. She hopes he learns from this regrettable situation. Coventry City FC has acknowledged the distress caused by the footage, stating that they do not condone any offensive behavior. They are committed to working with authorities to figure out the best way to address the matter. West Midlands Police are also aware of the emotional impact the video has had and are keeping Bradley's family informed as they carry out their investigation.
